Physical Description		Alan is of average height and he rarely stands out in a crowd. When on duty he stands up straight and is completely engrossed in his job. Off duty, his shoulders hunch slightly and he looks at the floor a lot. The contrast has made him think that perhaps he's only playing the part of an officer, like a role in a holo program. Physically Alan looks like an average human. The only obvious Bajoran trait is a slight nose wrinkle.

Friends & Relationships		Childhood friend - Steven Kolowitz Steven was one of Alan's only friends as a child. Mostly because Steven talked enough for the both of them and didn't get discouraged when Alan practically ignored him out of shyness. Academy roommate - Menos Menos was a perfect roommate in Alan's eyes. He and the Vulcan shared many comfortable silences and when they did speak, it was concise and quickly led to more silence. Childhood hero - James Sabar Alan and James met when James's Runabout crashed on Alan's home planet. While James was fixing his ship a young Alan watched, occasionally bringing him parts that the Starfleet engineer didn't know he needed yet. Impressed with the ten year old's grasp of ship systems, he encouraged Alan to join Starfleet and has kept in touch ever since.

Personal History		Sila Toma fled her home of Bajor when the Cardassians invaded. She bought passage on a merchant vessel but all her money and all her possessions, except her earring, only got her as far as the planet Binan in the DMZ. There she met Roger Reynolds who owned and maintained the only holosuites on the planet. He took her in and gave her a job dealing with customers and making reservations while he focussed on keeping the suites running. It wasn't long before they fell in love, were married and had Alan. As soon as Alan could walk he was following his father around and learning what he could about his job. By the time he was ten Alan knew enough about holosuite technology, from his father, and ship systems, from holosuite programs, that he was able to help Starfleet engineer James Sabar fix his crashed Runabout. James encouraged Alan to join the Academy and pulled some strings to get him accepted.
Service Record		After graduating from the Academy, Alan was posted to the USS Challenger as Assistant Chief Operations Officer. There he fulfilled his duties admirably and was transferred to the USS Magellan as Chief Operations Officer.
