Additional Information

Location Deck 12
Description The Chief Medical Officer's office is located to one side of the main sickbay ward, providing medical staff with all the benefits of a private office while still allowing them to keep a close eye on their patients at all times. Next to the offices of the captain, the Chief Medical Officer's office is perhaps the most elaborate workspace aboard the ship. It is the ideal spot in which to review status reports, hold one-on-one or small meetings with members of the medical staff or visitors, and to receive private communications.

Upon entering the room from the outside corridor, one finds themselves immediately facing a desk with two adjacent chairs for visitors. Ahead and to the left is a single door leading to a private head while another door leading to the primary sickbay ward stands opposite. To the immediate right is a transparent wall looking out into the main area which can be closed off when greater discretion or privacy may be required.

The Chief Medical Officer's desk has an LCARS terminal which enables access to the ship's main computer. One or more PADDs providing access to all relevant data are usually scattered around.

Operating at the furthest reaches of Federation space, the Chief Medical Officer's office still has much in common with those of other starships or installations. One rear wall features a large large computer interface located behind the desk which may be used by the Chief Medical Officer to access the ship's main computers, display up-to-date patient information, compare test and examination results, or communicate with colleagues. Opposite this interface is a replicator often used to provide refreshment for the Chief Medical Officer and any guests. A small bookshelf is located between them upon which a modest collection of personal belongings may be displayed.
