Opponents of the Federation Alliance

The Dominion is an interstellar empire, located in the Gamma Quadrant. It was founded and led by a group of Changelings called the Founders, who over some 2000 years conquered countless worlds across the Gamma Quadrant, maintaining order with their genetically modified minions and armies; the Vorta and the Jem'Hadar.

The Romulan Star Empire (or simply, Romulan Empire) is a major galactic regional power from the 22nd through 24th centuries, encompassing the Romulan people and their subject worlds and species. The Empire is known for its xenophobic character and policies of extreme secrecy and territorial protectionism.

Prior to 2390, the Romulan Empire served as primary representative government for the Romulan people. However, in light of the Hobus supernova disaster (2387) as well as subsequent attacks on Federation vessels and installations by agents of the Tal Shiar, the Alliance chose to recognize the Romulan Republic as primary representative government. This decision has further alienated the already xenophobic and isolationist Romulan Star Empire.
